Deva is an Editor and Publisher of the well known Telugu
Christian Monthly Magazine called SPANDANA (which means
Heartbeat). This magazine reaches nearly 10,000 homes
every month. He has also authored many books in the Telugu
language which are widely read.
Deva was born on November 12, 1963 in a small village in Andhra
Pradesh, India. His parents, Lingaiah and Lakshmi
were Hindus until they accepted Jesus in 1969. After they
accepted Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord, their names
were changed to Abraham and Sarah and they continue to serve the
Lord on a full-time basis. They faced several oppositions
and persecutions because of their faith in Jesus Christ, but the
Lord was with them and saved them from all dangers.
Deva trained by his evangelist father, as well as his spiritual
mentor Rev. Dr. RRK Murthy, traveling through hundreds of
villages while sharing about the Love and forgiveness of the Lord Jesus Christ. At the age of 21, God called him
through a vision of "Golden Apples" and led him to enter the
ministry full-time, leaving behind his education and job.
Deva has been blessed with godly parents, seven brothers and a
sister. Four of them serve the Lord in full-time ministry
while all others help in the ministry. Deva receives no
honorariums and all the offerings go towards the ministry,
because of his commitment to evangelism. The ministry
provided him a modest home in India where he resides with his
wonderful wife Krupa (Grace) and their two children, Joel and
Angel. |
